Introduction

If you’re a fan of dinosaurs, then this is the blog post for you! We’ve compiled a list of all the dinosaur-type Pokémon, as well as their evolution chains and some fun facts. So without further ado, let’s get into it!

Dinosaurs have been a popular topic since the release of the original Pokémon games. The first generation introduced iconic creatures such as Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle. And while the second generation didn’t have any new dinosaurs, it did add in two fossils that could be revived into living Pokémon. From there, each successive generation has added at least one or two more dinosaur-type Pokémon to the mix. As of writing this blog post, there are a total of 60+ different dinosaur Pokémon!

While the majority of these are based on real-world animals, there are also a few that are clearly inspired by mythical creatures or pop culture references. For example, Tyrunt and Amaura are both based on dinosaurs that were thought to be extinct until their fossils were discovered in the 20th century. Similarly, Aerodactyl is based on a prehistoric flying reptile known as a pterosaur. And then you have Pokémon like Tyrantrum and Garchomp, which take more creative liberties with their designs.

So without further ado, here is our ultimate list of all 60+ dinosaur Pokémon! We’ve included each Pokémon’s name, its type(s), and a brief description. We’ve also listed their evolution chains, so you can see how each Pokémon evolves. And at the end of each section, we’ve included some fun facts about the real-world animals that inspired these Pokémon.
